Jake Hendricks acts as outside general counsel to clients in all areas of real estate, business, construction and banking and finance matters, as well as related litigation. Prior to law school, Jake worked as a developer and property manager for a regional real estate firm. Jake utilizes his legal training and passion for real estate and business to assist clients in successfully undertaking transactions, negotiating and resolving disputes, and litigating cases.
Jake frequently advises clients on complex commercial and real estate transactions, including lease agreements, purchase agreements, financing arrangements, distressed property acquisitions, loan agreements and mortgages, forbearance agreements, secured transactions, entity formation, construction contracts, shareholder and partnership agreements and other business agreements.
Jake is also experienced in handling real estate and construction litigation matters. Jake has been involved in the successful resolution of boundary and easement disputes, construction defect claims, adverse possession claims, commercial lease disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, unlawful detainers and evictions, breach of contract disputes, mortgage foreclosure actions, mechanic's lien actions, homeowner's association collections, lien enforcement, title insurance disputes and other significant pieces of real estate related litigation. In addition, Jake litigates commercial disputes in both state and federal court, such as shareholder/partner litigation, enforcement and defense of non-compete/non-solicitation agreements, employee/partner theft or impropriety, breach of contract, commercial collections and business torts.
